Elise is an Artist and an Art Teacher in the Talawanda School District, teaching K-5 Art at Kramer Elementary School.   She has a BFA in Painting and Jewelry/Metals from Miami University, and an MFA in Jewelry/Metals/Enameling from Kent State University.  She exhibits her artwork in national and international shows, has received various artist-in-residencies, and grants for national and international travel, but lately she has been focusing more on her illustrations and needle felting.

She creates mixed media illustrations, which have whimsical characters set in a detailed and natural background.  Elise's work has always been figurative and whimsical, quirky and eclectic.  A main theme in her artwork is creating humorous characters and animals.  

She lives in Ohio with her husband Jim who is also an artist and art educator, two sons, dogs Crash and Peanut Butter, and two cats Matilda and George.
